YouTube Adds Video Quality Settings for Shorts, New Minecraft Effect

In addition, YouTube has included a new Minecraft effect for Shorts in honor of the game's 15th anniversary. This will allow viewers to customize the quality of their Shorts video playback experience.

Indeed, Minecraft is fifteen years old. In contrast, Space Invaders has 45.

Do you feel aging yet?

To begin with, the app's Shorts settings now include the new Shorts video quality choice.

You may now choose between "Data Saver," "Higher Picture Quality," or "Auto Detection," which will optimize your playing depending on connectivity, as you can see in this sample.

As per YouTube:

"Once a viewer makes a selection in the Shorts player, that pick will be applied until they leave the Shorts player or make another selection."

Thus, you may now manually force the system to maintain that playback level if you want to guarantee the highest quality.

Additionally, YouTube is experimenting with new Super Chat features to encourage user participation during live broadcasts.

"Watchers of our live stream have expressed their need for a quicker way to interact with the community, saying that the current chat options are inadequate. To provide viewers additional meaningful ways to engage with the community, we will be experimenting over the next few weeks with a "Reply" button and the opportunity to favorite Super Chats.

These are not big adjustments, but they will give viewers additional opportunities to interact with other viewers while a stream is happening.

Lastly, a new Minecraft effect for YouTube Shorts is available:

The new effect, as you can see, immerses you in the game. which is actually rather awesome. It is not like you can really interact with anything, though perhaps in the near future you will be able to do so as well Minecraft in VR.

However, until a completely viable VR experience for Minecraft is developed, this is a great way to honor the game.

You can try it out for yourself here.
